Andrew Cimerman: The GOAT of Real Estate

Andrew Cimerman is the owner, CEO and founder of HomeLife Realty Services Inc., one of the largest and most successful real estate brokerages in the world. His story is one of vision, passion, and dedication, from his humble beginnings in Europe to his global expansion in Canada and beyond. 

Andrew Cimerman was born and raised in Europe, moved to Canada in the 1970s with only 20 dollars in his pocket, and worked in construction for under a dollar per hour. Cimerman faced many challenges, but he never gave up on his dreams.

“I had a vision of what I wanted to do; it was never an obstacle to me. It was tight at the beginning, but I found my calling. I found something that I love to do: serving people, helping them to provide a roof over their heads.” Andrew said for our Real Estate News Network Podcast. 

Andrew Cimerman decided to pursue a career in real estate, as he saw it as an opportunity to be in business for himself and to help others achieve their homeownership goals. He studied hard and even memorized the entire book for the real estate exam. Andrew became a licensed agent and joined a brokerage, where he quickly rose to the top. He said, “Serving the people to me was so easy. Why? Because I listened to them.” 

He also shared, “One of the things I recognized early in the business: if you provide the best service to a client that you serve, they’ll remember you very well.” He became one of the top agents in North America in his first year and earned a reputation for excellence and professionalism.

Andrew Cimerman was not satisfied with being just an agent. He wanted to create a culture of success and happiness for his fellow agents. He said, “I am one guy. I have nothing to lose and everything to gain” Cimerman opened his first HomeLife office in 1985, followed by two more offices shortly after. He said, “I built a culture, a people’s culture, that people felt comfortable with.” 

He also introduced a unique and revolutionary concept: the Income For Life system. It is founded on the idea that agents should be entitled to keep more of their hard-earned equity when both selling homes and recruiting another agent for HomeLife brokerages. The system rewards agents by providing a financial incentive when recruiting an agent through the Income For Life program and sharing with their brokers the proceeds of every single sale made by the new member. 

Andrew Cimerman’s dream has always been to be a global player in the real estate industry. He said, “The way I can do this thing is I know the business inside out; we are the best in the business. I can advise others how to make money because this thing I know – how to make money.” He expanded HomeLife to over 600 offices and 16,000 agents worldwide, covering Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. 

Andrew Cimerman is not only a successful businessman but also a visionary, a philanthropist, and a role model. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his achievements and contributions to the real estate industry and the community. Cimerman has also inspired and empowered thousands of agents and brokers to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential.
